Yes please, more and better bike provision. Travel by bike is arguably the lowest carbon and healthiest option for 1- 10 miles trips for all ages, and to connect to public transport when trips are longer.The weather and the terrain are enough of a challenge, we humans need to arrange roads, trains & buses to make it easier not harder to use the bike.

Good luck on your tour and to whoever has responsibility for this issue: Please, please, please provide for bikes on busses and trains. It would so facilitqate the use of bikes as a viable long distance mode of transport thereby redcucing carbon omissions. We are missing a trick by not doing so. Other countries can do it so we can too.

We are desprately short of space on buses and trains.
Battling with other bikes to get yours on and what provision on buses that exists is not used because the drivers don't like to trouble themsleves on the grounds of health safety, well they only need to supervise me taking my bike off!

With National Cycle Route No 8 at the bottom of our drive, we have a good idea of how few people use it: increasing public transport`s ability to carry bicycles can only help us all to use two wheels more often

New bike racks have to be useable - Arriva allows loading at just one stop between Aberystwyth and Bangor on the X32 bus, because of safety issues with loading bikes at the back. In the USA racks are on the front and it works well.

]]>On the 3rd of October 2009 we did a workshop on climate change for the Ceredigion youth forum. We also did a consultation on the climate change strategy. It was a very good workshop, One participant approached us at the end and said:
“it makes so much difference having a young person do the workshop, it makes you want to listen.”
Cadan who ran the workshop had the following to say:
“It was a really good experience for me personally, as I’d never delivered a workshop single-handedly before. It was also good to engage with the young people and see their reaction to me as a young person-I’m sure they were expecting a boring talk from an older person!”
